Just some of the comments from people that have visited Warwick Hall
Totally Perfect!!
We stopped here for the first night of our honeymoon on the way to Loch Ness.
We were greated by Val who was so very hospitable which was just what the doctor ordered so to speak as it had taken us 5 hours in the snow to get there from South Wales! Val had even lit the open fire in our suite for our arrival which made it even more welcoming and warm.
We were offered all the great comforts of this wonderful house and dinner was cooked personally by Val and to say it was wonderful is really an understatement – it was perfect in every way! After an amazing nights sleep in one of the most confortable beds I have slept in we had an amazing breakfast before we set off.
This is such a charming, romantic and perfect place to stay that we shall definetly be returning soon.
Great location, friendly, relaxed. Simply a must.
Just returned from a weekend break with friends. We had booked the River Suite and were certainly pleased. Very clean and spacious. The owners Nick and Val were very accommodating, indeed, nothing was too much trouble. The estate is clearly well managed and offers some great fishing beats. Unfortunately due to the recent unexpected rainfall the river was too high to fish. Fortunately this gives me an excuse to return, not that excuses are needed. Highly recommended, dont take my word for it, go try for yourself.
Great place – shame about the weather!
The portents for my stay were none too promising. Cumbria was experiencing exceptionally heavy and prolonged rainfall and flooding. However, the location of Warwick Hall, despite being set by a river seemed to protect it from the worst excesses of this weather. My accommodation (the Garden Suite) was superb. It was maintained to a high standard and as a self-catering facility had a good range of fixtures and fittings. Although I did not use all of them them there were internet facilities, a DVD and music system, a large screen television and, I believe, satellite TV. A previous guest complained of a cold and draughty room but my experience was entirely the opposite. The suite was centrally heated and when I lit the dual fuel coal/wood burner I had to open windows and doors to allow some heat to escape! Bathroom facilities were first class with a good bath, powerful shower and bathrobes were included. I can’t comment on dining facilities because I had opted for self-catering but the aroma of breakfast in the morning was very tempting indeed.
The other guests I met were clearly enjoying their stay and were sociable and forthcoming. It is said that a magnificent building might make you want to visit but only the people in it can make you want to return. I found the owners and staff to be friendly, helpful and accommodating and I would have no hesitation in making a return visit.
Beautiful
Firstly may we point out that this charming hotel is in Carlisle and not Warwickshire. The location, the silence, the rooms and the food were all outstanding. Val (the owner) was wonderful, everything that you could possibly need was available. We dined in on the sat evening and were offered a fabulous choice from the wine cupboard and our food (salmon caught in their own river) was exquisite! We will definitely be making a return visit to this lovely hotel. The Hawksworths.
What a fantastic place – great for dogs too!!
We have just returned from a wonderful long weekend in the River Suite of Warwick Hall. Absolutely wonderful stay; the suite was beautiful – the charm of the whole house really lends itself to guests and you feel as though you are part of a huge country estate staying there! The location is great; very peaceful, luxurious and unsurpassed views of the River Eden and woods. We had breakfast cooked for us on both days there and it was delicious; all beautifully hot from the Aga and the tea/coffee and juice were just as lovely. Our dog had a wonderful stay too; Rhubarb the house dog – a beautiful pointer – was also a great hostess for our dog Miles! All in all, a lovely stay. We had dinner in the suite on the second night, but ate dinner at The Queens Inn in Great Corby, which was delicious – very large portions though – you need to book! We also had a quick bar snack in a lovely little pub on the road into Brampton called the Lane End Inn – cheap, cheerful and delcious!
